Failure to Keep Proper Lookout
VEKDIUT ON DOUBLE RAILWAY FATALITY. Par Press Association. INVERCARGILL, Last Night. An inquest into the deaths of William Bennett and Frederick Tayles who died from injuries received when a truci? they were pushing was struck by a railway engine on December 10, 1936, was held before the coroner, Mr W. 11. Freeman, S.M., today. The coroner’s verdict was that each deceased died from injuries received whilst enguged in pushiug a truck along a railway siding towards the main line which truck was struck by a Tailway engine travelling on the main line. “In my opinion tho accident was caused through failure on the part of ♦ne driver and or fireman u keep a proper lookout,'* added the coroner.
