Germans Shoot Rebel Officers
MINIATURE BATTLE IN SEVILLE United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright. Received Monday, 7.125 p.m. LONDON, Feb. 1. The Daily Herald’s Gibraltar correspondent asserts that German officers sent to assist General Franco shot dead in Seville in a miniature battle several highlyplaced Spanish rebel officers. All telephone communication with Seville is now severed and the radio is silent. The story is that a Spanish officer, incensed by the Germans’ disparaging references to the rebel army, reported the matter, thus precipitating a dispute in which both sides joined with revolvers, the better marksmanship of the Germans giving them the victory. WHEAT STEAMERS DETAINED INSURGENT WARSHIP’S WORK GIBRALTAR, January 31. M. Dellano states that an insurgent warship On January Ist detained Spanish and French steamers carrying wheat to Government ports.
