Ashhurst

From Our Own Correspondent Tennis Club The Ash hurst Tennis Club held their fortnightly tournament on tho school courts last Saturday afternoon under very unfavourable conditions. There was a splendid attendance and good games resulted in spite of the high wind which prevailed. After some very keen and interesting play, the winners proved to be Miss K. Brewer in the ladies’ section and Mr C. C. Brewer in the men’s section. Court Pohangina. The monthly meeting of Court Pohangina, A.0.F., was held on Thursday evening, Sister E. Smith presiding over a good attendance of members. There were no members on the sick fund. The secretary, P.C.R. Bro. Smith, read the balance sheet to the meeting, members being pleased with the financial position of the Court. At the conclusion of Court business, the following officers were invested for the year: S.P.C.R., Sister E. Smith; C.R., Bro. R. D. Davis; S.C.R., Bro. L. Evans; S.W., Sister M. Davis; J.W., Sister II Middleton; secretary, P.C.R. Bro. R. W. Smith. Congratulations were extended to Sister E. Smith on being the member to complete all oSloes in the Court. Mr and Mrs Seymour and family, of Eketahuna, were the guests of Air and Airs A. West for the week-end. Mr and Airs A. LlLtlejohn and daughter are at present on holiday.
