Chapter of Minor Accidents
LEGS BROKEN; FINGER CUT. Oswald Saunders, aged 27 years, of 17 Ada street, labourer, is an inmate of the Palmerston North Hospital with a fractured leg as a result of a fall of earth at Pohangina yesterday. Raymond Holley, aged 50 years, of Foxton, labourer, is also in hospital with sprained ankle suffered as the result of a fall. George Muir, greenkeeper, of 131 Kimbolton road, Feilding, aged 45 y ’rs, was also taken to hospital yesterday when he had the misfortune to cut off a finger. John Davis, aged 29, of 15 Waldcgrave street, Palmerston North, suffered a fractured leg in addition to head in juries when the car in which he was riding was struck by a train at the Monrad street crossing yesterday. A report of the accident appears on page four.
The condition of William Sykes, aged 74, who was knocked down by a car in Main street on Wednesday, was reported this morning as grave. The victim had shown no sign of returning to consciousness.
