Takaro-Teraki Cup at Stake
TAKARO BOWLERS’ CLOSE WIN FROM NORTHERN. The third of a series of matches for the Takaro-Teraki Cup was played last evening between members of the Takaro and Northern Bowling Clubs, and resulted in a win for the former by a narrow margin. In the following re suits, Takaro players are named first: — Fisher, Frew, Wass, Tantrum (s> beat Martin, Neilson, McMurray, Skogluud (s) 22—11. Titshall, Ridley, Lyall, Cooksley (s) lost to Lee, Fairey, McDonald, Rabone (s) 34—18. Lincoln, Shelley, Hearsey, Farrar (s) beat Elliott, Thompson, Duncaif, Larcomb (s) 16—10. Ihle, Just, Russell, A. Smith (s) lost to Connor, Smith, Kirk, Young (s) 18—22. With two games each, Takaro won by an aggregate of 70 to 61. Takaro have now won one match and Northern two. One remains to be played. One of the characters in a new novel i 3 described aa a “tried and trusted financier." In real life, of course, he might have been trusted first and tried afterward.
