Foxton Water Supply
ARTESIAN BORE GIVES OUT Experts who have examined the artesian bores supplying the Foxton borough have reported that one well is useless and unless some steps are taken to obviate the pumping on the remaining wells there is a danger of a complete breakdown. It was found that one of the bores is leaking badly at the 40ft. level and that sand is being drawn into tho tank from this when the motors are in operation. The well is also obstructet at the 150 ft. level. The Borough Council considered the matter at length at a special meeting when the work of sinking a new fourinch bore forthwith was sanctioned, and it was decided to obtain the services of au engineer (o report ou the construction of a collecting tank to do away With the pumping on the wells.
