Those who travel over the road between Napier and Rotorua cannot fail to bo impressed with the improvements which have been effected during the past three years by the Main Highways Board. Bends havo been straightened out, the road widened, and bitumen laid down between Waiotapu and Rotorua. The road from Taupo to Napier is an important connection between the East CoastAuckland to Wellington route and vice versa and the work now .±i pro gress is long overdue. In passing through the Waikato it is noticeable that road work is in prog e Auckland-South road while the main road between Mokau and New Ply'mouth is ali*o receiving necessary attention.
