HON. . E. BARNARD TO BPEAK IN PALMERSTON NORTH Considerable interest has been aroused in the Dominion recently in the matter of increased population as a means of defence and in other days as necessary to the better progress of the country. Tho Hon. W. E. Barnard, Speaker of the House of Representatives, has addressed meetings in various places and has shown a remarkable grasp of his subject. Realising that Palmerstonians would welcome the opportunity of hearing him, the Palmerston North 50,000 Club has completed arrangements for Hon. Mr Barnard to speak on ** Migration and Population’ ’ at the Municipal Hall on Wednesday next at 8 p.m., and it is anticipated that there will be a large audience to hoar him. In the absence of tho Mayor, Councillor G. Tremaine, Deputy Mayor, will preside and everyone is cordially invited to attend.
