Patriotic Entertainment Committee
PLAY TO BE PRESENTED IN WOODVILLE A meeting of the Woodville and District Patriotic Entertainment Committee was held on Tuesday evening, Mr. G. Wickes presiding over a good attendance. The lion, secretary, Mr. D. S. L. Keay, reported that there bad been a profit of £l3 11s 2d net on the recent patriotic ball. Mr. Keay also stated that arrangements had been made with the Manawatu Repertory Society, Palmerston North, to stage the play, ‘’‘Lover’s Leap,” at Woodville in a fortnight’s time. The secretary’s action was endorsed and highly commended as it is understood that the play is a highly creditable performance. Details of finalising arrangements for the performance were left to the chairman and secretary.
