Rebellion in Wellington!

ROME RADIO’S FANTASTIC LEE Per Fresa Association, WELLINGTON, Sept. 12. A cablegram received in Wellington to-night from Sydney stated that a radio broadcast from Rome reported that a rebellion in Wellington was preventing the embarkation of New Zealand troops for overseas. When Mr. Fraser was asked for comment for the purpose of refutation by the Australian shortwave radio to Europe, he said the people of New Zealand would be highly amused when they learned of this fantastic nonsense. Obviously this lie was too ridiculous to warrant serious notice from him or any other responsible source. The wholehearted devotion of all the people of New Zealand to the British cause and their determination to assist to the utmost of their power in the successful prosecution of the war against Hitler and Mussolini needed no reiteration on his part.
