AUSTRALIA RAISES FUNDS FOR BOMBING VICTIMS
(Received 13, 12.45 pjn.) MELBOURNE, Sept. 12. The Melbourne City Counci' is giving £25,000 to a fund opeend by Ihe Lord Mayor for the relief of victims of the German bombing raids on Britain. When the fund is officially inaugurated at a public meeting to-day the Lord Mayor will be able to announce that £40,000 is already in hand The proposal to establish the fund received a prompt response from Victorians. Thousands of pounds has already been received.
