To-morrow’s Concert
COMMERCIAL TRAVELLERS’ PATRIOTIC EFFORT Those who want a good night's entertainment and who decide to help tho Patriotic Funds should not miss the concert arranged by the Palmerston North commercial travellers in the Opera House to-morrow night. Many prominent artists will entertain in novel, humorous and more serious vein, and they include the Huia Straight Eight. Miss M. Penketh, a successful vocal entrant at the Wellington Competitions, Air. J. Pizzey (George Formby), Mr. A. Christian (Wellington’s Sandy Powell), Mr. D. Lunney, a well-known radio vocalist, now a member of the Royal New Zealand Air Force, “Amos and Robbie" (well-known local entertainers), and two pleasing vocalists, Mrs. N. C. Holland (soprano) and Mr. W. B. Tennent (bass baritone). Popular xylophone presentations will be given by Mr. C. Bell. Low admission prices will be the rule, the charges being only 2s (including booking), and Is 6d for tho pit. Another feature of the programme will bo the drawing of tho art union conducted by the commercial travellers. This will be carried out as a tableau, in which pupils of Miss June Scott, assisted by the Navy, Army and Air Force, will take part. The orchestra assisting the programme will bo a strong combination, conducted by Mr. J. Wingate. The box plan is now open at Collinson and Cunninghame 7 s.
