N.Z. Army Appointments

(P.A.) WELLINGTON, This Day. Included among the appointments and promotions of officers of the New Zealand military forces gazetted last night are the following:— - Staff appointments: Major G. R. Rowr botharh, Royal Artillery, is appointed to the command of an anti-aircraft brigade with local rank of colonel; Lieut.-Colonel V. A. Young, M.C., Royal Artillery, is appointed to a command in a southern military district with rank of colonel; Major E. Le Davies, Royal Artillery, is appointed to the command of an antiaircraft brigade with local rank of colonel; Major H. E. Fernyhough, Royal Artillery, is appointed commandant of a New Zealand staff college with local rank of colonel.

Second N.Z.E.F. appointments: Brigadier K. McCormick/C.8.E., D.S.O/, is appointed Director of Medical Services; Major R. L. C. Grant is to be second in command of a divisional signals unit; Major S. J. Hedge is to be deputy-assistant Q.M.G. of a base camp; Major C. G. Pryor is to command a signals school; T./Major I. A. Hart is to be second in command of an infantry training depot; Lieut.-Colonel J. N. Peart is to command a battalion; T./Lieut.-Colonel C. N. Watson, M.C.; is to command an advance base; Major J. F. R. Sprosen is to command a field regiment; Major L, I. B. Ballantyne is to command a composite training depot; Major H. E. Crcsse, M.C., is to command , a reception depot; Major E. F. Walden is to command an infantry training depot; Major E. T. Kensington is to command a field regiment; Major L. N. McKay is to command an artillery training depot; Major I. O. Manson is to command a battalion; Lieut.Colonel P.%A- Ardagh, D. 5.0., M.C., is to be Assistant-Director of Medical Services; Major J. S. King, M.8.E., is appointed general staff officer, first grade, of a base camp; Major D. E. Harper is to command an engineer and ordnance depot; Lieut.Colonel L. J. Hunter is to command a casualty clearing station; T./Lieut.-Colonel C. M. Williamson is to command a base camp; Major B. Barcington is to be deputyassistant Q.M.G., New Zealand Division; Lieut.-Colonel D. T. Maxwell is to be colonel; W. G. Tweedy, M.8.E., is to be New Zealand Red Cross Commissioner in the- Middle East with honorary rank of major; Lieut.-Colonel F. Prideaux is to be colonel; Major J. S. Martin. M.8.E., is to be lieut.-colonel; Major H. W. D. Lake is to be temporary lieut.-colonel.
