SCHNEIDER CUP
DIFFICULTY FOR BRITAIN LACK OF CIVIL PILOTS (United Press Association— By Eleotrio Telegtaph—Copyright) LONDON, 31st December. An aeronautical correspondent says the Royal Aero Club, which is defending the Schneider Cup on behalf of Britain, is faced with the difficulty of raising a team of civilian pilots, and wishes to add an extra seaplane to those which contested the trophy in 1929. These will not run full speed, because their cooling surfaces are inadequate. FRENCH PREPARATIONS LONDON, 31st December. The “Times” Paris correspondent says that the French Air Ministry has appointed three pilots, Amanrieh, Domougeot, and Boncaut to begin training for the Schneider Cup. All are young in service, and are well fitted to undergo the severe physical strain of the contest.
