SOUTH WALES MINERS
A CONFERENCE ARRANGED BASIS FOR DISCUSSION (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) LONDON, 6th January. The South Wales miners and owners agreed to meet Mr Graham and Mr Shimvell to-morrow to consider the basis for a discussion at a further meeting ol the Conciliation Board. NATIONAL INDUSTRIAL BOARD REFUSED BY THE OWNERS (Received Bth January. 1.45 p.m.) LONDON, 7th January. Mr MacDonald speaking at Seaham Harbour, said in reference to the coal trouble: “The Government does not want any dispute at present, hut it is not going to interfere in any way which would make injustice a condition of peace. The owners have not accepted the national industrial board which the Government considers essential to the reorganisation of the coal industry, and have thereby set a very bad example.”
