TRANSPORT MONOPOLY
| SERVICES TO BE CO-ORDINATED ’ ACTION BY LANG GOVERNMENT (United Press Association—By Eleotrio Telegraph—Copyright) . SYDNEY, Bth January. The Lang Government is preparing legislation for the creation of a transport i .monopoly under one commissioner. This involves the abolition of the present Rail*
way Commission and the recently constituted Transport Trust, which controls the trams and omnibuses. It is likely also that the .Main Roads Board will. bo eliminated. The whole of these services will then be co-ordinated and administered by one commissioner with subordinate heads. J The Premier is of the opinion. that the solution of the railway difficulties is also dependent upon the cutting tap ; of large estates contiguous to the rail- ’ ways. The Government, he states, has such a mandate and will attack this pro- ; blcm without delay.
