ROYAL AIR FORCE BOMBERS CAMPAIGN AGAINST GERMAN INDUSTRY London, Jan. 4. R.A.F. bombers set a staggering record in 1944 in their campaign against German industry which has contributed so greatly to the enemy’s pre sent plight. During the year more than 525.000 tons of bombs, which is more than twice the weight dropped in the first 4] years of the war, were dropped on Germany. Thirty-five per cent were on industrial towns, 18 per cent on transport. 16 per cent in direct support of Allied armies and 11 per cent on V weapon sites and supply depots, seven per cent on the German oil industry, three per cent on oil storage depots, four per cent on the German aircraft industry, three per cent on ports and shipping, and three per cent on unspecified targets.
