REASON GIVEN BY TURKEY
DIPLOMATIC BREAK WITH JAPAN Ankara, Jan. 4. The Turkish Foreign Minister, addressing the National Assembly, said the diplomatic break with Japan followed a suggestion made on Christmas Day by the United States backed by Britain. The suggestion was that a break would shorten the war against Japan by depriving the Japanese of a pose from where Allied preparations are observable.
