TO CONTRACTORS. fpHE Telegraph Commissioner is prepared to _L receive Tenders for the supply and delivery of ONE THOUSAND (1000) TELEGRAPH POLES, more or less. The Poles to be Bawn from the heart of kauri. The Poles to be of the following dimensions: — Twenty-five (25) and twenty (20) feet long (in proportions hereafter to to determined), to be eight (8) inches square at the butt, and bi'x (6) inches square at the top. The Poles to be sound, straight, and free from shakes, knots, and sap. N".B.—iVo Pole trig lc accepted which contains the least sap. The Poles to be delivered in the city of Auckland, at a point to be indicated hereafter. Tenderers are to specify tbc price per Pole as per sizes given. Each tender to be accompanied by a deposit of twenty-five (£26) as a guarantee of good faith, which sum will be forfeited by any tenderer should he refuse to take up his tender in the event of its being accepted. Each tender must include the names of two sureties for approval, who are willing to become bond for the duo performance of the contract, in the event of the tender being accepted, and must be accompanied by a notification to that effect signed by the two proposed suieties. Tenders, endorsed " Tenders for the supply of one thousand (1000) Poles," and addressed " The General Id anager, Telegraph Department, Wellington," must be sent in not later than the Ist August next.
