THE CITY OF NEW YORK IN QUARANTINE.
(united press association.) Auckland, Jane 21. The City of New York arrived from Sydney this mcrning, and was placed in quarantine. There has been no communication with her as yet. The outward mails and passengers will be placed on board at once, and she leaves for San Francisco this afternoon. The inward passengers will be quarantined. The mails are now being fumigated. Later. There has been no sickness on board the City of New York. The passengers are to be
quarantined far twelve days from tbe date of the steamer's departure from Sydney, 'ihe outward passengers were taken down to the steamer in the quarantine ground. The steamer leaves to-night or early to-morrow morning. The following are the Australian passengers in quarantine : -Mr. and Mrs, Dargaville and sou, Messrs. Shepherd, Smith, Axlam, Michell, Fancourt, Clark, and Mrs. Koumaton.
