KILLED ON THE RAILWAY.

Christchurch, May 8. Near the Hinds station, Samuel Chessou, a fireman on the Southern express, while firing up, was standing with one foot on the engine and the other on the tender. He was single, twenty years of age, and lived at Timaru.
