IRRECONCILABLE BOERS,

Some of tlio Boers who recently returned to Standorton from Coylon have expressed surprise at tlio rapid settlement of the country sines the war. They state they would ha.ro sworn allegiance to Britain and returned earlier if they had been awlire of the fact. A majority of those who have'returned, however, are still irreconcilable, accusing General Do la Rey of deception in assuring them no “rooineks” (redrtoats) were left in the Transvaal. TRADE STATISTICS. CAPETOWN. February 2S. Imports into tho Transvaal during ■1903 amounted to BIS).500,000, as compared with £13,000,000 in tho previous year, and tho Customs revenue was £2,000,000, as against £1,500,000.
