MUSICAL EXAMINATIONS.
Professor H. Muller, who has recently been appointed official representative of the London College of Music in Wellington, was exceptionally successful with his pupils in the examinations in theory in connection with that college in December, 1903. He prepared twenty-three candidates for the examination, and all passed, all but two gaining first-class certificates; two obtaining the full number of marks possible; eighteen succeeded in gaining ninety or over out of a possible 100. This result has perhaps never been excelled in New Zealand. The following are particulars of the marks gained by each:—Miss Nellie Caller, 100; Miss Ethel M. Downes, 100; Miss Janet Miller, 99; Master Ralph Blenkinsop, 98; Master William Gini, 93; Daisy House, 93; Master Vincent Dentice, 97; Miss Jennie Francis, 97; Master George Guise, 97; Master Lacelot L. Smith 97; Miss Florence Downes, 96; Miss Anna Hills, 96; Miss Louie Perry, 96; Miss Constance Beale, 95; Miss Vera Cooper, 95; Miss Kathleen Marley, 93; Miss Mabel Williams, 93; Master Sydney Stanton, 90; Alias Bertha House, 88; Miss Ada Smith, 87; Miss Ethel Stanton. 85; Master Albert Dentice, 76; Miss Gertrude Smith 73.
