Christchurch Show.
(by telegbaph.) Christchtjrh, November 11. The weather to-day for the people's day at the Canterbury Metropolitan Show was beautiful. . The attendance is estimated at 22,C00, the gate money amounting to 19.89 12s 6d. The Governor and Premier and several members of both Houses of Parliament were present. Of the exhibits judged to-day, the most important classes were those for light horses. Jn this department the entries Bhowed a marked increase on the previous years, and the general quality of the horses waa of a high standard. In the. class for blood entries Mr H. Thomson's Musketry gained the first prize; Sir G. O. Clifford's second. Mr E. J. M'Clelland's Prime Victor took first prize in the hackney entries. The awards in the class for 15st hacks went to Mr G. P. Donnelly's The Master ; 13st hacks, Mr A/S. t< Iworthy's Skylark; and list hacks, Miss Elworthy's Joker. In the ladies' hacks Dr Nedwell took first and second, f kylark was first in the clas3 for 14st hunters, and Miss Baton's Waihao in the list and any weight classes. Mr W. T. Olifis' Hazeldean was placed first in the trotting entires.
