The Bank of England stock of gold coin and bullion is L 29,650,000 ; reserve L 21,517,000; proportion of reserve to liabilities 50-90; circulation, L 27,303,000; public deposits, L 5,950,000; other deposits, L 36,357,000; Government securities, L 10,250,000; and other securities, L26 ( 032,000. Three months' bills are discounted at 3f per cent. Consols, 109f. New South Wales 4 per cent, inscribed: stock, 118|-; 3£ do, 105J ; 3do 100. Victorian 4 per cent, inscribed stock, 112 ; 3| do, 105. South Australian 3J per cents, 107 ; 3 do, 99. Tasmanian 3£ per cents, 107. West Australian 3& per cents, 104. Wheat—All markets quiet, but steady. For South Australian wheat, December or January shipments, 31s is asked. The American visible supply is 33,930,000 bushels. The sugar market is steady. Java, 12a 3|; German beet, 9s 9d. The Bradford wool market is improving. Prices : For tops, common sixties, Is 7d ; super, Is BJd. Iron, 49s 7sd. Copper Is very firm and the spot quotation is 56 ; three months, 56|. Tin—Spot, 84£; three months, 84 Spelter, 24§. Lead—Spot, foreign, 13Jd. Silver, 2s 4d. Butter is very dull. Colonial, 102s to 104s ; Danish, irregular, nominally 108s. Rabbits are quiet. Victorian, B§d to 9d ; New Zealand* 7f-d to Bd.
