The Weather.

Captain Edwin telegraphs to-day as follows: Wind—Gale with rain from between north-east and north and west at all places eastward of Tanranga, Tanpo, and Castlepoint ; and also in all parts of the South Island, but strong from between northwest and west and south elsewhere. Barometer—Fall at all places north of Xiyttelton and Hokitika soon, and further fall from thence southward. Pea—Heavy on all western coast, also on east coast north of East Cape, and from Napier southward. Tides—Moderate between Napier and East Cape ; everywhere else.
