In .response to a request from the Admiralty the Customs Department is making a canvass among seamen and firemen of coastal vessels for members to form a colonial naval reset ve. Seamen, who will put in six months' drill on a warship in the colony and 28 days' ordinary drill, will get a retaining fee of L 6 per annum for 5 years. A procession will march through the city consisting of 1500 volunteers, permanentartillery and mounted infantry, members of the various trades unions, friendly societies, and 'ire brigades, the Mayor and members o[ the city council and harbor board, and the suburban Mayors and Councillors. At the request of the Governor the last two carriages will be for the party, Lord Ranfurly's carriage beiui; last of all. The guard of honor will receive tho Governor and escort him to ths entrance of the Exhibition, where the President of the Exhibition Executive will receive his Excellency.
