BELGIAN RELIEF FUND.

Hanmer Spring May 5. The Hon. R. H. Rhodes (Postma-itor-"enera!) informed a press representaute to-night that the officers ot the Post Office and Telegraph Department had -not onlr contributed £2oS to the belgian Relief Fund, but the sum raised in the departmental fund on. this oecasonamounted to £393 3s 2d and ,n addition- to this various contributions had been made direct to the local funds raised for the same object. Among these might be mentioned the Finn .of £263 13s 2d for the relief ot post- and telegraph officers inßelgium and also an amount of £S4 & 6d contributed by the officers ,f.f the accounts branch of the General Post Office direct to the. fund, the office having guaranteed to rsii-se £ln a month as long as necessary. Dannev rke. May o. The Dannevirke County Council has decided to make-a monthly donation oi £2O to the war relief funds.
