ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
(Feb Puess Association.l Timaru, May 5. A fatal accident happened to John Mattlieson, a farmer of "Winchester, Inst- night. He and a neighbor were riding home, from Temuka about G p.m. when Mattheson's horse bolted and threw him. His companion, riding after him in the dark, did not sec him fall, and went on to Winchester, returning when he found the horse there without its rider. The accident happened opposite a house, and a woman inmate hearing a horse galloping and the fall went out and found Mattlieson and sent for a doctor. Mattheson was removed to the hospital, and died this morning, the result of the fall being a fracture.'of the skull. At the inquest a verdict of accidental death was returned. Dunedin. May 5. Advice was received at Dunedin tonight that a man named J. Pohl was kille'd at Ahuriri Flat, near Owaka, on Monday, through an accident, with a reaper and binder. No details are available.
