Tlhie Court' instructed Mir, Schramm,.--returning officer at To. TCuifci, to go by train to To Kuiti ami tiring downi packages with a view to searching 'for the.-. covin terf.oils. MrJustice (Hooper explained that it might be that the missing counterfoils wouli}' be "■ found .in another, package. The Court wanted: to know whether, or not : .tlie'i'e counterfoils were in existence. It might be thiat- someone had destroyed them. Certainly a lot were missing.
The returning officer said he could return by train on Monday afternoon, and was -instructed to■■■bring all packages and report to the Registrar of the Coiirt.- ,-..'-•. ~ ~ . .
: Counsel. then argued "certain .points .raised'" during -the., hearing, . including the. place of. abode of the .respondent •aand the uestion affecting the group, of persons who registered! hefore October 27- on claims, which did-:tiot show they possessed the three months' residence ualification.
". Mr Justice Cooper complimented •both.'counsel on the conspicuous .'abiLitv with which they had argued the ease. They ■ would' adjourn, the Court until Friday, when the- Judges might be able to decide whether they yould order a scrutiny of .the votes 1 . Their' Honors did. not - know at present, but they ■might find that they had- sufficient material on which to give final judgment.
