PATRIOTIC SOCIETY'S PROTEST.

Per Phess Association. Wellington, May 10. At a- meeting of the Executive of the New Zealand Patriotic Society yesterday the following resolution was adopted: —"That this meeting enters its emphatic protest against the latest act of barbarism and murder committed by Germany in sinking the Lusitania, and pledges itself as a Society and as individuals to render whatever service in itsi -or their power to bring about, the punishment of the perpetrators of such hellish crimes. We are of opinion that the time has arrived when Germans and Austrians not naturalised, at present enjoying their liberty and in some cases occUD.ving good positions in the public service, should bo immediately interned and held a.s prisoners of war.'and that the Government be asked to scrutinise carefully the conduct of naturalised British subjects."
