AN EXTRAORDINARY DEATH.
Per Press Association. Auckland, May 10. An extraordinary death was described by Dr Lowry, who was giving evidence respecting a post mortem examination of the body of an old man named Robert French, who died suddenly in his bed at Mount Roskill. The doctor said that lie found air in the man's heart (which was weak), in the blood vessels of the brain, and in different places in the circulatory system. His theory was that, in attempting to rise from his bed, the deceased caused a slight lesion in one of his lung 6, and that the air, aided by low blood pressure caused by a. weak heart, invaded the circulatory system, and that the man had died instantly of embolism or steppage of the circulation. The doctor said that so far as he knew there was no record of a similar case. The Coroßer, accepted the theory, and returned a. verdict accordingly.
