'J'ho following message, has been received by the (governor from Sir lan Hamilton, in reply to one his Excellency sent -on May 3rd:—"May I. speaking out of a- 'full" heart, be permitted to say bow gloriously the Australian, find New* Zealand, contingents upheld the finest '■' traditions of cur race during this struggle still in progress, at. first with andacity and dash, since then with sleenless valor and untiring resource. They have ■already, created for then; country an imnerishixble record of military virtue.—' lan Hamilton, commanding the British Mediterranean- Forces." •

In reply to Sir'lan Hamilton's teleSirain relating to the Australians and New Zea landers at the Dardanelles, Mr Jas. Allen, Minister of Defence, has sent the following cablegram :—'•His Excellency has sent uie your splendid message, which will he made public in .New Zealand to-day. New Zealand is more than proud of what her sons have done and what you have been able to say of them."
