WAITAHUNA.
(from a correspondent.) 25th ISo vernier, 1362. For the past two days great numbers of the diggers have left Waitahuna for the new rush to Fox's gully, several of them having had private letters from their mates up at the Duns tan, calling on them to go up at once. As the proof of the madness of a digger, I know one here who left this day and he sold out his share to his mates for a mere triile, though he and his two mates made for the last ten dajrs 3 lbs. weight of gold ; the name of the leacfer who is now on Waitahuna is Duncan M'Donald. This is in consequence of the reports from the Teviofc and Dunstan diggings.
A young man, named George Fraser, came down here last night from the Teviof, and he brought two pounds weight of goM with him, which, he made by working on. the river within live miles of Captain Baldwin's homestead station, during the space of four weeks. He states that each of two mates of his did the same. I have seen the gold sold at -Messrs Iteid and Sutter's here this day. It appears to be very fine and clean.
There was a good fall of rain here this morning, but about nine a.m. the weather cleared up. Again at two o'clock p.m., heavy peals of thunder were heard, and very shortly after a great quantity of rain fell for about an hour.
