ANGLING COMPETITION.

Tlio annual fishing competition with the " baro fly" for the medals presented by the Otugo Acclimatisation Society to the. Otago Anglers' Society was held on the Waipahi Kivcr on tlio 9th ill!., and resulted in the first prize being awarded to W. Marbazan (Gore) and the second 1o D. Finlayson. (AVaipalii). ' Tho Otago Anglers' Association also held a competition on the Waipahi Hiver on the following day, any legal bait being allowable, for prizes presented by the president. (Mr I{. Ladewig, 6 fish, lOJlb, G. Howat, 15 fish, 6}|b; T. Murray, 11 full, Gib;- D. llclraie, 4 fish, 31 lb. Mr Williams, having previously won a first prize, is subject to a handicap of 20 per cent,, thus Mr F. Ladewig secures first prize, Mr Williams second, and Mr Howat third. .
