AMERICANS OVERSEAS
OVER SIX HUNDRED THOUSAND RUGBY. Sept. 13 Mr Robert Patterson. United States Under-secretary for War, disclosed that over 600,000 men in the United States armed forces are now overseas. “ The traffic will soon jam in the air roads from America to Tokio and Berlin,” said Mr Patterson in an address to aircraft workers at the Ford Willowrun plant. Michigan. “These roads will be crowded with Liberator bombers produced at Willowru.n," he said. “We believe in the offensive, and are determined to produce what is needed to crush the enemy.” Mr Patterson said the American force of 600,000 armed men now overseas “ will be doubled and doubled and duobled to the limit of our manpower until we defeat our enemies.”
War Loan Contribution
A message from Canberra states that the Australian Mutual Provident Society has decided to subscribe £500.000 a month to Australia’s austeniy war loan.
