ARMY APPOINTMENTS

PROMOTIONS GAZETTED (P.A.) WELLINGTON. Oct. 15 Military appointments and promotions which were gazetted to-night include the following:—Major E. W. George, district works officer. Southern Military District, is to be lieutenant-colonel (temp.). Major C. E. Reid, senior medical officer in a Southern Military District camp, is to he lieutenant-colonel (temp.). Captain E. A. Porritt is to be major (temp.), and is seconded to the R.N.Z.A.F. for duty as an aerodrome defence commander. Major H. E. Suckling. New Zealand Dental Corps, is to be lieutenant-colonel (temp.). Lieutenant-colonel J. P. Joyce is appointed senior staff officer, artillery, Army Headquarters. Major (temp.) D. W. Earle is appointed assistant director of dental services (administration), Army Headquarters. Major (temp.) C. E. L. Rout is appointed assistant director of dental services in a North Island division.

The following officers are seconded to the R.N.Z.A.F. for duty as aerodrome defence commanders:—Major C. F. McCallum, Captain J. T. Thomas, Captain R. A. Prescott, Captain A. C. E. Loadsman, Major (temp.) J. E. Stevens, Major M. B. Hope, Major (temp.) E. M. Stace, Major (temp.) D. C. Armstrong, Major (temp.) L. E. Haines,' Major (temp.) W. R. P. Jacques, and Major (temp.) C. J. Pomeroy.
