ANOTHER WIFE MURDER

Received April 21, 12.15 a.m. Victor Gaubert lias been arrested for the murder of his wife Eliza, at the village of Lappenc, near Marseilles in circumstances resembling those of the Crippen case. Eliza Gaubert disappeared in October, her husband alleging that she had gone to Mauritius. Later he announced her death, and married Antonia Sidolles, a village girl. Gaubert left home during the making of repairs 'to his house. Workmen noticed that the tiles in the scullery were uneven and discovered the body of Eliza Gaubert. Gaubert states that his wife and he had a violent altercation over Antonia, and that she (Eliza) suddenly dropped dead. Fearing arrest, he concealed the body.
