It is rumoured in Dunedin that a well known bookseller in that city is about to institute an action for libel against a rev. gentleman of the same place. “ Before the Prince left Barwon Park,” says the Melbourne Herald, “ he favoured Miss Austin and Mrs W. H. Embling with liis autograph, to commemorate his visit. According to the Advertsser, the villagers turned out in force to beat the covers, and in the excess of their loyalty caused some amusement. One enthusiastic individual, during the first day’s shooting, when the rabbits were running past, called his Royal Highness’s attention to the fact by a most energetic dig in the ribs, ‘ Look out, there they go.' The Prince’s reply was, ‘ I could shoot much better if you would not nudge me in the ribs.’ Altogether it was a most gratifying and successful visit, and left the most pleasing impression on the minds of the Royal Party.”
