The following are the rates of postage chargeable on Letters, Book Packets, and Newspapers posted in New Zealand, and addressed to places within the Colony. I.—TOWN LETTERS. Posted at any Post Office within the Colony for delivery at or from the same Post Office— Not exceeding ce, One Penny. Exceeding half-an-ounce, but not exceeding one ounce .. Twopence For every additional ounce or fraction of an ounce ... Twopence IX. —COUNTRY LETTERS. Posted at any Post Office within the Colony for delivery at or from any other Post Office within the same Province— Not exceeding half-an-ounce, Twopence. Exceeding half-an-ounce, but not one ounce ... ... Fourpence. lII.—INTER-PROVINCIAL LETTERS. Posted at any Post Office within the Colony for delivery at or from any Post Office in any other Province within the Colony— Not exceeding half-an-ounce, Threepence. Exceeding half-an-ounce, but not one ounce ... ... Sixpence. For every additional ounce or fraction of an ounce ... Sixpence. IV. —BOOK PACKETS, BANKERS’ PARCELS. AND PATTERN PARCELS. Posted at any Post Office within the Colony for delivery at or from any Post Office within the Colony— Not exceeding four ounces, Fourpence. Exceeding four ounces, but not eight ounces ... Eightpence? For every additional eight ounces or fraction of eight ounces ... ... .. Eiglitpence. V. NEWSPAPERS. . Posted at any Post Office within the Colony for delivery at or from any Post Office in or out of the Colony— Each N ... ... ... One Penny.
