Postal Guide.
[COMPILED FOR THE WANGANUI CHRONICLE.] MAILS FOE ENGLAND. Mails for America and Europe, via Panama, are despatched from Wellington on the Bth of every mouth (mails closing in Wanganui on the Wednesday or Saturday afternoou, not less than two days preceding that date, or later by steam communication), to arrive at Panama on the sth, and mails to arrive in London on the 30th of the following month.—Time, 52 days. Mails for Australia and Europe, via Suez, by way of Marseilles or Southampton, are despatched from Wellington on the 17th of each month (mails closing in Wanganui on the Wednesday or Saturday afternoon, not later than two days preceding that date, or later by steam communication), to arrive at Melbourne on the 27th, and in London, via Marseilles, on the 12tli ; and via Southampton on the 18th of the following month.—Time : via Marseilles, about 55 days ; via Southampton, about 60 days. MAILS FROM ENGLAND. Mails close in London for New Zealand and the Australian colonies, via Panama, on the 2nd of every month ; being despatched by West India Mail Packet, to arrive at the Isthmus of Panama on the 24th ; heuee by P.N.Z. & A.E.M. Co’s steamers, due in Wellington on the 21st. Mails close in London for the Australian colonies and New Zealand on the 20th of every month, via Southampton ; and on the 26th via Marseilles, to arrive in Wellington on the 23rd of the following month. A notification has been issued by the General Post-office in London, to the effect that all etters posted in England for New Zealand will be forwarded via Panama, unless specially directed via Suez.
