WELLINGTON.
Juno 3. ■ A. large ship seen in the Straits by the captain of the Pate i is supposed to bu the Geraldine Paget, 90 days out from Plymouth, with 212 nominated immigrants, including 100 single women. Eighten bills were set down for second reading in the Legislative Council today. Mr Edwd. Shaw, the newly-appointed Resident Magistrate, is to take his seat to-day for the first time. Two men had a narrow escape from drowning to day, through a boat cap* sizing. They were rescued by a boat from shore.
