AUCKLAND, September 20. Those who build houses, even though they be very small and temporary ones, always run the risk of figuring in the Police Court, unless they first submit the plans and specifications of the projected buildings to the authorised surveyor and obtain his approval of them.
John W. Brookes began to erect a building in Auckland on August 30 without following this niece csary course, and this morning was called upon to explain the omission to Mr. Dyer, S.M. The defendant put forward the plea that the building was only ia small and temporary shed, but this was unavailing;, 'the Magistrate fining Brooks £2 with cost*
