VISITORS FROM AND TO NEW
ZEALAND
(From Our Own Corespondent). LONDON, August 2, 1907. Mr. F. D. McCarthy, of Auckland, has just left* London for Quebec and Montreal. He came by the Ormuz on June 30, and is due back in New Zealand by Christmas. Mr. J. P. Cohvill, of Christchurcii came by the Prinz Heinrieh. He is on «i twelve months' visit.
Mr. J. D. Milton, of Clmstchurch, has arrived via Sydney, China, Japan, and Canada,. He is accompanied by his wife and son, and he expects to be here a couple of years, during which time they will take the opportunity of finding a school for their son in the Old Country. Mr. W. J. Wilson, of the firm of | Messrs. John Wilson and C0.,"0f Auck•land, has just left, and will travel via the United States and Japan. He came 1 via the States, and spent three months and a half there, visiting most of the leading cement works. While here, he has taken the opportunity of picking up the latest improvements in methods and machinery in the manufacture of cement, for which his firm are erecting a large extension at Warkworth. Mr. J. Rattenburg and Miss Riatteiibtirg. of Taranaki, who are just now in London, came by the Victoria. They will ba here until the end' of November.
Mr. A. Barry, of Feilding, came by the Corinthic on July Bth. He leaves again in August, and travelling via the United1 States, Vancouver, and Sydney, expects to b& in New Zealand again by Christmas.
Mr. and Mrs. Frank Bee, of Napier, came by the Mongolia. They are here for pleasure, and will be here about three months. While here they will pay extensive visits to the Midlands, ScotLand, and Ireland.
Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Campion, of Wellington, have been travelling in Wales, and have spent some time in Bristol in connection witlhi the winding-up of the estate of the late Miss E. M. Campion. They are shortly touring Germany, Belgium, and France. Mr'. J. Wilkes, of Napier, has just returned to London from South Nigeria. He will spend some time here and on the Continent, afterwards returning to Nigeria. Mrs.- A. E. Aubin, oif Auckland, accompanied by her two daughters, are here on a pleasure trip. They are due back in New Zealand in. December, and •will travel by the Orient liner Ortona. Captain G. H. Walker, D.5.0., arrived in England from Capetown on June 22, and is now in London. He was in command of the New' Zealand Contingent in South Africa. ■ Mr. Norman St. O. Hates, of Wellington, is here playing with the Pennsylvania University cricket team. Ha has been studying dentistry at the University of Pennsylvania. To-morrow he leaves for New York, and spends the rest of his holidays with his brother at Lake George, New York. Mr. Hales graduated two months ago Doctor of Dental Surgery, and he will now take another-year as' post-graduate, and in special courses, ins Philadelphia. ■ He returns to Wellington at the end of itext (year.
