CARRISON BAND BAZAAR.
Hi* committee of the above held the final meeting Last night. Present— M-i-s-ii's R.charclsoii (in the chair), Hogg, Dmtckley, Tan-ant, Signal. Forrest, Buckley, Allomre, Tarranb, Townsciid, McNaughton, and Dunkley. It was decided to open the bazaar at 7 pm. on Monday. The ceremony will be. performed by the Mayor (Mr. Mackuv). Mr. Hogan, M.H.R., will also be invited to speak. JVIr. Moore, of Lismore, offered to forward a load of ferns, etc., and a luarty vote of thanks was passed to him Gilberd and Sons presented a block of soap to be used in a weightjudging competition, and received a similar compliment.. Prizes of one guinea per night will I>3 given to purchasers of "The Big Drum," the bazaar official organ, who are astute enough to solve certain problems on simple matters. For particulars consult the paper. This is I'terally picking up guineas for tb© expenditure of threepence. Messrs. Richardson, Dunkley, and Hogg were appointed a sub-commit-tee to assist the general supervisor, Mr. Cecil "Wray, in arranging each evening's programme. The committee' wish to acknowledge the handsome donation of £5 ss. from the firm of W. and G. Turnbull and Co., also an additional guinea from their popular manager, Mr. Saynor Griffiths, who hae also kindly lent a number of Japanese lanterns* Mrs. Robert Hughes has also donated one guinea. Mr. A. Blick, of Waverley. forwarded ten very artistic pin cushions. The Band wish to express their thanks to these and other donors. The following ladies will manage the various stalls :—Sweet stall: Mrs. Andrews, assisted by Misses Ballantyne, Jensen, AHomes. and R. Andrews. Refreshment stall: Mrs. Buckley and Mrs. Webb-Jones, assisted by Misses Bassett, Sharp©, Smith. Rose, Sykes, and Jones. Flower stall: Mesdames Mackay, Greenwood, and Hughes-Johnson, assisted by Misses T. Jones, Newoombe, G. Christie D. Christie, T. Stevenson, E. Bretfcargh, and! Speeons. English stall: Mesdames Richai'dson and Gower, assisted by -Missas Cooch, Richardson, and Porritt. Produce: Mesdames Allan and Copeland, assisted'by Misses Copeland, McKay, and McLaren. Variety stall: The Band, assisted' by Mesdames Forrest and Signal, Misses Winsiade, Edwarde, and Jensen. Ireland: Mrs. Beck and Miss Bamber, assisted by the Misses Beck, Bamber, Tranz, and Hogan. Japanese stall: Mesdames Swan and Meuli, assisted by Misses Swan and Meuli.
Last evening the Garrison Hall presented a very busy appearance, where, under the direction of Mr. T. H. Battle a small army of ''"bush" carpenters energetically pied saw and hammer, and soon the usual :barn-like appearance of the hall was altered. Numer-cms structures of varied shapas and sizes sprang up with magical swiftness, and every-t-lune: will he ready for the opening on Monday. The committee would remind those who have prom/sed donationspar ticularly produce, etc.—that- if it is not convenient to send same to the hall arrangements will be made for collection on notification being forwarded. Briefly put, the stalls will be loaded with useful and ornamental goods, and the .amusement part of the bazaar will b» exceptionally sti-ong. so a bumper attendance may be anticipated on Monday night. .
