SAD DROWNING ACCIDENT.

BLENHEIM, December 28. A bathing fatality occurred in the Opawa River this afternoon, in which tho following were drowned : Mrs Arthur Farmar (wifo of a settler), 37 years; her daughter Rona, 18 years; ■and Zeta Shaw, a girl of 12 years eldest daughter of Frank Shaw, chemist. Gallant attempts at rescue were made by Mr. Shaw, but were unavailing.
