The Hey. J. A. Jacob, the newly appointed Vicar of Christ Church, is due to arrive in Wellington to-morrow- by the Athenic.

'Mr. A. Cormack, who was for many years engaged as a baker in Wanganui, has just returned from a very enjoyable trip to the Old Country. Mr. Cormack went Home in the Athenic, and returned in the lonic, which arrived in Wellington on December 4th. During his stay he visted the scenes of his youth in the vicinity of Aberdeen, and spent a, very pleasant time renewing acquaintances in various parts of the land of brown heath and shaggy wood. j\ A cable message- has been received by Mr. W. H. George, of George and Kersley, Limited, announcing the death of his father, Mr. W. H. George, sen., of Worthing, England.
