WOODVILLE, December 8. The rain which has fallen during the last two days has done the course a lot of good. The weather has every appearance now of remaining fine tor the Woodville Summer meeting, which starts to-morrow. The town is full of visitors and everything points to a successful meeting. The following horses have been scratched. for all engagements: — Sir Antrim, Advantage, Astraea, D'Nil, Moriarity, Chicane, Mallet, Fern, and Charge. For the Hurdles —■ Indian Mutiny, For the Welter—White Star.
CHRISTCHURCH, December 8. While executing a gallop with Grand Slam to-day St. Joe fell and broke his shoulder. He was afterwards destroyed.
