GASLIGHT SPORTS.

On Thursday night the Foxton A.A. Association held gaslight sports in the Victorian Park, the chief event being the Sheffield handicap of £40. Representatives from Auckland, the Wairarapa, and other parts of. the Dominion competed. There were in all 28 entrants, 21 of whom went to the post. With such a list the race was run off m heats, and semi-finals. The final resulted: J. E. Johnson 1, S Clarke 2, T. Hal! 3. (Time not available).
