COAL COMPANY'S SPIRITED ACTION
SYDNEY, December -I
Mr Wade. Premier, has iissued a statement showing that the Bellambi Coal Company has offered the Railway Commissioners 7.000 tons at Grass at tho price prevailing before the strike. The offer has been accepted. The Premier commended this public; spirited action to other owners, and added that if possible owners attempted to exploit the public the Government would st«p in and secure coal from any source to checkmate any attempt to bleed the community.
Tii9 electric lighting of Sydney can bo maintained till January 10th, but gas Tighting will cease in eleven days. Tlio municipal authorities are fitting up lamps to burn keiosene.
Tlia Railway Commissioners are fitting up several locomotives to take oil fuel.
